Normandy: Baptism by Fire

From England, the journey continues to Normandy, where Easy Company parachuted into France in the early hours of June 6, 1944.

On this part of the trip you’ll visit the drop zones, nearby villages, and the battlefield around Carentan where the company saw its first major combat.

The hedgerow countryside still looks much as it did in 1944, making it one of the most powerful places to understand the story of the invasion.

Holland: Market-Garden and Hell's Highway

In September 1944, Easy Company jumped into the Netherlands during Operation Market-Garden.

This part of the trip follows the route through towns like Eindhoven and along the corridor that became known as Hell’s Highway.

Here, you can visit the bridges, towns, and roads that played a central role in the Allied attempt to push quickly into Germany.

The journey then leads to Bastogne in Belgium, where Easy Company endured one of the harshest battles of the war.

After the fighting in Bastogne, Easy Company moved south to the town of Haguenau along the Moder River.

The trip culminates with the climb to the Eagle’s Nest, where the war in Europe was nearing its end and the men of Easy Company could finally look back on the journey that had taken them across the continent.
